So was blödes!
Da freut man sich auf gleich zwei tolle Konzerte im Nahbereich, MARILLION, Morgen in HAMBURG und PENDRAGON Anfang September in ENGLAND und dann kommt aus heiterem Himmel eine eMAIL die so anfängt:
„Dear Ticket Holder,
We are writing to you with news we never imagined we would have to share. It is with profound sadness that we must confirm that Kernowfornia Festival 2026 will not be taking place…“
Was soll denn dieser Scheiß???
Liest man die ganze eMAIL, erahnt man die finsteren Abgründe des modernen Musikgeschäfts. Das KERNOWFORNIA FESTIVAL wird von dem kleinen Unternehmen „GRACENOTE PROMOTION LTD“ veranstaltet. Und GRACENOTE PROMOTION LTD ist jetzt pleite. Der Geschäftsführer und Inhaber, Herr JON STAFFORD ebenfalls. Er dachte wohl bis zuletzt, er bekommt das hin und hat offenbar mit seinem privaten Vermögen für sein Geschäft gebürgt.
Stöbert man ein wenig herum kommt man auf den Gedanken, das der Manager und Musiker (JON STAFFORD spielt auch noch in der Band HAUNT THE WOODS) sich vielleicht nur dramatisch verzettelt hat?
Denn letzte Woche fand das erstmals von GRACENOTE PROMOTION LTD veranstaltete MORVALA FESTIVAL OF ART statt. Und die aggressive Bewerbung dieses Festivals per eMAIL im Vorfeld war schon fast eine Zumutung. Offenbar hatte man auf Crosspromotion gesetzt und gehofft, das man Besucher der einen Veranstaltung auch für die andere Veranstaltung gewinnen kann?
Schwer vorstellbar, das der Ticketverkauf für das KERNOWFORNIA FESTIVAL schlecht lief. Bei dem guten Lineup?
Vermutlich ist die Kunstveranstaltung kommerziell völlig in die Hose gegangen und hat das eigentlich sehr solide daher kommende KERNOWFORNIA FESTIVAL mit in den Abgrund gerissen. Schließlich hat im letzten Jahr MARILLION dort gespielt?
So was blödes.
Nicht änderbar. Schade, sogar sehr, sehr schade! Die Kohle für die Eintrittskarte ist wohl weg. Der Veranstalter meinte in seiner Erklärung, das man vielleicht über seine Kreditkartenbank das Geld zurück bekommen könnte. Ja klar, kann man versuchen, aber die werden sich schadlos halten. Schließlich haben die das Geld ja auch nicht mehr.
Schadlos hält sich auch der örtliche Campingplatz („TENCREEK HOLIDAY PARK“):
Die haben zwei Stunden nach Verkündung der Pleite angeboten, das man eine Gutschrift auf ein von ihnen veranstaltetes Bierfest in 2027 bekommen könnte, oder eben Anfang September bei ihnen Campiert. Auf keinen Fall würden sie Stornierungen akzeptieren.
Tja, etwas ratlos aus der Wäsche schauend!
Herr VÖLKLEIN, langjähriger Veranstalter des NIGHT OF THE PROG Festivals auf der LORELEY weiß schon, wieso er 2024 erst mal den Stecker gezogen hat. Grandioses Risiko, so ein großes Musikfestival auf eigene Rechnung zu veranstalten.
Tja, jetzt wird es wirklich schwierig mit der eigenen Planung. Am KERNOWFORNIA FESTIVAL hängen ja auch die bereits gekauften MARILLION Tickets für deren Konzert in PORTSMOUTH ein paar Tage später. Der Treppenwitz: Auf der diesjährigen UK Tour von MARILLION ist HAUNT THE WOODS die Vorband. Der Knaller oder?
Erstmal keine Idee wie man das nun wieder löst.
Statt dessen Morgen einfach MARILLION doppelt so intensiv in sich aufsaugen!

It is with profound sadness that we must confirm that Kernowfornia Festival 2026 will not be taking place.
Following professional advice and a full review of the company’s financial position, Gracenote Promotion LTD has been left with no responsible alternative but to enter formal liquidation due to insolvency.
This decision has not been taken lightly. We explored every possible avenue to continue, but the financial position of the company has made that impossible.
Throughout the liquidation process, we will fully cooperate with the appointed insolvency practitioner, provide all information requested and ensure the process is handled properly and transparently. Once a liquidator has been formally appointed, all known creditors will be contacted directly as part of the statutory process.
To everyone who purchased tickets, we are so incredibly sorry.
We know many of you have booked accommodation, arranged travel, taken annual leave and made plans with family and friends months in advance. We fully understand the disappointment and frustration this news will cause.
As Gracenote Promotion LTD is insolvent, the company is unfortunately not in a financial position to issue refunds directly.
If you purchased your tickets using a credit card, you may be able to make a claim under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974 by contacting your card provider.
If you purchased using a debit card, you should contact your bank as soon as possible and ask about making a chargeback claim for services not received. Time limits vary between banks, so we recommend doing this as soon as possible.
These routes are likely to be the quickest way for customers to recover the cost of their tickets.
Kernowfornia was created because we believed Cornwall deserved ambitious, independent live music events that brought people together through music, community and shared experiences. Although our journey has come to an end far sooner than we ever imagined, we remain immensely proud of everything the festival achieved and of the community that grew around it.
To every artist, supplier, contractor, volunteer, member of staff and supporter who helped make Kernowfornia possible – thank you. None of it would have happened without your belief, hard work and commitment.
As director of Gracenote Promotion LTD, I have also suffered devastating personal financial consequences. Having personally guaranteed a number of the company’s financial obligations, I have been left with no choice but to enter personal bankruptcy alongside the company’s liquidation.
At no stage did we believe the company would fail. Every decision we made, every artist we booked and every pound we spent was done in the genuine belief that we would continue trading successfully and meet every one of our obligations. The company’s insolvency has left us unable to do so, and for that I am profoundly sorry.
Thank you for believing in Kernowfornia and for being part of its story.

We are writing to let you know that, with great sadness, we have learned that the Kernowfornia Festival (4–6 September 2026) has been cancelled and the organisers have entered liquidation.
We understand that many of you were planning to visit Looe for the festival atmosphere, and we’re sorry for the disappointment this news may bring. While the festival itself is not connected to Tencreek Holiday Park, we appreciate this may affect your plans.
As an alternative, we are pleased to offer you the option to amend your booking free of charge to attend our Looe Beer Festival, taking place 14–16 May 2027. If you would like to take us up on this offer, please reply directly to this email and our team will be happy to assist. Weekend tickets only £22!
If you would still like to visit and enjoy Looe over the original dates (4–6 September), you are very welcome to do so and your booking will remain in place as scheduled.
Unfortunately, refunds will not be offered.
